This is arguably longer than it needed to be, and some of it feels a little like padding, not to mention this is clearly at least relatively promotional in nature. The director has numerous worthwhile things to share. You get to find out about the process, and what difficulties they ran into, several of them being from weather and sand. ![]() ![]() One of the goals of this cruise is to investigate if the east Florida ecotone extends into the deeper waters beyond the edge of the continental shelf and divides populations of animals that live along the upper continental slope. The east Florida Ecotone is an ecological zone or boundary where two ecosystems meet, and it constitutes a significant barrier to gene flow between populations of many shallow water species. The latter extends around the tip of Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico. ![]() There is one group of interbreeding populations to the north of this discontinuity, and another to the south. Studies of shallow water animals as varied as horseshoe crabs (Limulus polyphemus), oysters (Crassostrea virginica), whelks (Busycon), killifishes (Fundulus species), and diamondback terrapins (Malaclemys terrapin) have revealed genetic discontinuities or barriers with a common geographic location along the central east coast of Florida. Instead, different species are found at different depths. Earlier studies have shown that while several species can inhabit the same small geographic area, they never occur together. One group of snails that co-occurs with deep-sea corals throughout this region are the slit-snails, long considered to be "living fossils." These large snails, which range from Bermuda and South Carolina southward to southern Brazil, feed on sponges (Figure 1), soft corals (Figure 2), stalked crinoids and other organisms along the outermost continental shelf and upper continental slope. A database will be created itemizing the species of snails collected on each dive, including the many minute species sorted from sand and sediment samples. In doing this research, we will look not only at latitudinal patterns but also patterns associated with depth and topography. Because snail diversity is much greater than coral diversity, it will likely be possible to discern biogeographic patterns on a finer scale. This will include documentation and analyses not only of the species of corals that form these deep reefs, but also of associated organisms including microbes and mollusks. ![]() Among the objectives of this cruise is a better understanding of the extent and diversity of the deep reefs of the Straits of Florida. Like their shallow water counterparts, deep-sea corals form large and complex ecosystems that provide habitat for, and are populated by, many different organisms. Cooldown and crit are equally important, so use your Paragon Points to compensate for your gear’s weak spot. Other notesĪll the same Legendaries and Sets that are good for most Barbarians apply, so no real surprises on equipment (at least until they finally reintroduce a new version of Crushing Blow then we’ll have more to say). Bloodthirst is a good choice if you don’t have enough healing, and Animosity is worth considering. Berserker Rage stacks nicely with the boulders but not with hammers, but hammers can keep Rampage up for everything except major bosses. The Mighty Thor Build is one of the few Barbarian builds which offers high damage per hit in the game. Enemies in the area have their movement speed slowed by 80 for 8 seconds after they recover from being stunned. To me, it is the best Diablo 3 Barbarian Build. Reduce the cooldown of Ground Stomp to 8 seconds. Get your Haedrigs Gift free set ASAP, builds for each step, and items you need. D3 Season 23 Barbarian Fresh Level 70 Guide 2.7.1. Avoid No Escape, as it’s not quite as useful as you would expect since most of the time you will be too close to your enemies. Create an icy patch, causing Earthquake to Freeze all enemies hit and deal Cold damage. As for Passive Skillsīoon of Bul-Kathos and Earthen Might make maximum sense since you will be using all of the skills they benefit. Wrath of the Beserker + InsanityĬrazy bonus damage to whip out against Elite hordes and bosses. Obviously, the Immortal King set is great if you can get it, but these guys are plenty useful even if you don’t. All the runes are good, but we strongly recommend The Mountain’s Call for more Earthquakes. These skills provide alternating sources of kills that are available more often than you expect. go with Balanced Weapon instead to maximize the amount of Fury you generate. ![]() Since you will be mostly hunting groups, the Ricochet rune is particularly useful if your weapon comes with an interesting strategic proc. My suggestion is, do not sacrifice any affix that you can’t get with paragons (or any of the three tabs that cap at 50/50) for vitality when you reroll an item.Sample Avalanche Build w/ Ancient Spear Other Active Skills Weapon Throw For example amethyst in the helmet instead of diamond. Some builds (very few actually) don’t need any cooldown reduction so in that case you can favor vitality as there aren’t any better options. As a Barb you want to get elemental resistances on your items cause you can increase armor infinitely with strength (paragon and augments). What makes you really tanky most of the time ( appart from set bonuses, buffs, items with specific damage reduction multipliers like band of might or Aquila cuirass ) is armor and elemental resistance. However during early progression until you have tones of main stats, it’s not that unusual to dump a couple hundreds of paragon points into vitality if you feel like you really need it. That’s why most of the guides don’t suggest putting more points into vitality. Vitality is somewhat important I guess but most of the time the vit you get from torso, helmet, pants, boots, belt is enough and ideally you don’t want vitality on your amulets/rings and weapons since the other affixes are more important. And when you augment you still do it to increase the main stat. ![]() For Diablo 2 content, please refer to our Diablo 2 Barbarian Builds. The Barbarian is the epitomy of a ruthless brawler in Diablo 3. Usually you wanna spend your paragon into your main stat as it will give damage reduction. You will build up your energies by rampaging around in combat, leaping and shouting, and channel the built up Fury into massive, sweeping strikes. ![]() ![]() ![]() If you're in a tiny room with no treatment and crappy speakers you won't be able to hear everything that is there regardless. If you love it, you have no choice but to do it anyway. But my real point is to not be discouraged. Understanding certain things, as well as how much you practice and how fast you learn come into play. Even if someone gave you $100k worth of gear you'd need to learn the basics and put in a lot of hours (read: thousands) to get to a high level. One thing I will say is that you should not expect to plug-in some stuff and have a pro studio sound. I'm very picky with reverb but I use other techniques to make them sound better since I can't afford what I'd prefer to be using I also run my reverbs, delays, and similar effects on Aux tracks. You can make really good stuff with just those if you practice a lot and learn what they do, why to use them, and use them well. EQ is the most powerful tool to me, compressors and muti-band compressors/dynamic eq probably second, plus delay, Reverb, etc. I totally agree with You don't need 7,000 plugins, or even Waves unless you like them. Check out the acoustic treatment forums on here. Room treatment and good monitors so you can hear what you're working on and not get all the nasty effects from sound bouncing around your room in a free-for-all. Not sure what you mean by "crisp." Clear and detailed? As others said, solid signal chain will help you capture things properly (with practice). It's more of features, UI, and workflow that differs a bit, some have extra tools, etc. ![]() Use Abelton if you like it, as DAWs are personal and we work best in ones we vibe with. It's plug-in format you need to pay attention to (VST, AU, AAX, etc.) but most all plug-ins these days are made in every common format. You can't just slap on plug-ins to get a "studio sound." Thank you!Based on your questions it seems you don't have much experience so you'll need to invest some time. The Plug-ins I want are the Renaissance Vox and the De-esser maybe some other ones to make my recordings sound more crisp and studio like. So should i switch to logic and get the waves plug-ins? Or are there plug-ins just as good that are compatible with ableton? or is there a better daw out there like protools? Im just trying to get the most professional sound i can. I am currently using ableton live 8 and i also have logic (I just like ableton better) and i was recommended some plug-ins by waves, but on the ableton forum it said that wave plug-ins are not compatible(i also installed them and they wouldn't show up on the scan.). I am looking for the best daws for recording vocals. Learn to use the tools first before spending your money. Not familiar with Ableton but Logic has decent plugins included. If you can't get professional results with stock logic Eq and Comps then 3rd party plugins will not be of any benefit. Honestly I would invest my funds into a mic shield and anything that you can do to improve your signal before it hits your DAW. Don't forget a pop filter for you mic to catch plosives. You can use volume automation to help your compressor and also De-Ess any problem sibilance spots. Make sure not to over compress your vocal. That way you will also run into less sibilance issues. You don't want your compressor to react to frequencies that you will cut anyway. This next one is a matter of personal preference but I Eq first and then compress 99% of the time. Then use a send from your vocal channel for reverb and delay. ![]() Make sure to record at or around -18db on your meters in your DAW.Īlso you want to put your reverb and delay plugins on separate AUX tracks - NOT on inserts on your vocal channel. Waves Q series Eq is great for notching out problem frequencies. My other favorite is the Waves SSL 4000 but it is a little more expensive and might be harder to use if you are not familiar with using an Eq. You probably won't need to use gate on the vocals but it is still there. It has several comps, an EQ with an analyzer, limiter and gate. If you want a relatively inexpensive plugin that you can use on anything (including Vocals) try the Metric Halo channel strip 3. Great mic pre that I personally use all the time which is a recreation of a classic Neve 1073 circuit.įor reverb I personally use Acousticas Impulse Responses - Lexicon 480L. Mics are a personal choice but for mic pre I can recommend HA73jr. ![]() Don't forget a good quality Mic and Mic pre. Then you need a good quality reverb plugin, delay plugin and decent Eq plugin and a decent Compressor plugin. Also you can use a mattress or heavy blankets in order to minimize reflections. Try to find the best possible spot in your room to record in. What you need is at least a decent quality Iso Shield to put on your Mic stand in order to get rid of room reflections. If you want to record vocals to a minus 1 wave file - any DAW will do. ![]() ![]() The same XRP holders who are receiving Spark, will also be getting a bunch of the newly announced Songbird (SGB) tokens.
